Crackers and Letters

“Appa, the crackers!” Manu said for the thirtieth time since morning, as he pulled my lungi looking up at me. His baby face had the same smile I woke up every day to see. He perhaps thought that there was enough money inside his father’s pocket to buy the whole […]

The Traffic Signal

Running late, I stared at the traffic signal that showed fifteen seconds to green. The black Yamaha FZ’s engine seemed to compete with the scorching sun above, as I cursed myself for wearing a leather jacket. And the helmet. And all the other things that were glued to my skin. […]

October is Gone!

Last month was an eventful one, except that I forgot to gift my blog a post on its 4th birthday on 16th. I read a novel by Liane Moriarty called The Husband’s Secret. It was fairly good, except that a couple of characters were annoying and lacked a convincing closure. I enjoyed the […]

First Draft is Finally Done!

Two and a half years as an engineer who writes on weekends, my tortoise pen has finally made it. On a roller coaster ride, if something has taken a beating from this marathon, it’s my blogging and poetry. So, I thought I would share it through my blog. In the post Before […]

Did You?

When you are in my arms smiling, Try listening to one of my intense heartbeats pounding. You gave them a reason worthier than just to keep me alive, Did you know how glad they are now, beating? When we lock our lips in love, Try reading through my pensive mind. […]

“Prajnanam Brahma”

Knowledge is divine is what everybody infers from the above line from the Rig Veda. As Sanskrit is hardly studied in depth in the current timeline, inner meanings of several verses of wisdom are often lost. Likewise is the case with Prajnanam Brahma. I studied in one of the Navodaya Vidyalayas, where […]

Before It Is Something Else

I have had a peculiar problem with my writing, specifically with the book-idea I have had since high school. Yes, I am working on a novel. From several years now. (Some of my childhood friends might raise their eyebrows, “Still?“) Initially, I had written a story about 60k words and my […]
